Music plays a big part in Cory's life. He began singing and playing the piano at the age of 8. Cory spent seven years studying music at the Sheffield Music Academy where he has studied many areas of music. Cory mainly studied music theory, voice and piano but also contributed to the academy choir, world music group and much more. He studied A-Level Music, A-Level Music Technology and Religious Studies at Thomas Rotherham College. Following this, Cory studied at and graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a 1st Class BA(Hons) degree. Cory's full-time job is as a teacher at a Rotherham Primary School.
Cory is currently the Organist and Director of Music at St. Alban's Church in Wickersley. A role which he takes on along side his teaching post. There he takes choir practices and plays the organ for regular weekly services, weddings and funerals. Cory has also worked and assisted as an organist and/or choir director at other churches in Rotherham. Cory has also served as the Team Leader for the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) in the Sheffield and South Yorkshire area where he lead the area team in organising and directing events and musically supporting churches in the diocese.
Coryllion Choir is Cory's very first own choir, brought together for a choral diploma which he undertook in 2015. Since then, Coryllion have gained new members and has continued to grow and develop. We enjoy working on both harder choral works and much easier choral music in order to build a wide repertoire. Cory's aim is for the choir to perform their music to the best possible standard.
